The Evening Star is one classic that according to Mikael Frodin is best viewed from behind glass rather than from the end of a fly line. It was believed to be the creation of George M. Kelson and was written about by Major John Henry Hale in "How to Tie Salmon Flies". Dr. Pryce-Tannatt also has a version of the Evening Star in his writings.
