Hair Wing Flies
This page is devoted to Hair Wing patterns. These are the flies used most often today in the actual persute of Atlantic Salmon on the rivers of eastern North America. Although not truly a Classic Atlantic Salmon fly they are quite interesting to look at and they can be quite a complex fly in their own right.
Because these flies are made of hair they are very durable and fish quite well. There are many fishermen today that tie some very beautiful Hare Wing patterns and like the Streamer patterns I am including them here for two very good reasons, first they are beautiful to look at and because they are a true fishing fly and deserve a place here in 'The Classics".
