Hi, my name is Sacha Pütz, I was born in 1971 in Hemer, Germany, were I live with my girlfriend Isabella. Fly fishing all began in 1985, when I saw 2 fly fishers fishing for grayling and trout on my home water. I saw them casting and from then on only one thought ran through my mind, I want to learn fly casting and fly fishing!

I bought my first rod, reel and flyline and went down to the river and caught my first grayling and trout. After a short period of time I learned fly tying and soon I was trying to create my own special patterns for the waters near my home.

In 1989 I travelled for the first time to the swedish river Mörrum and from these early days of salmon fishing and salmon fly tying I began my special passion for the salmon fly.

Since 1998 I have tied at many fly fishing shows in germany and other european countries. Special highlights being the Danish Fly festival in Kolding, Denmark and this years Fly Fair in Hattem, the Netherlands. I took part in different national and international fly tying competitions and my best results thus far have been the silver medal for hairwing salmon flies and a bronce medal for fully dressed salmon flies at the Mustad Scandinavian Open.

Another great success of mine was the good results I acheived with different fly patterns in Ken Sawada´s Fly Tying Competition held in Japan. I have also had good results in the Slowenian Fly Tying competition and other tying competitions in Germany, e.g. Fly Fishing Brinkhoff and I even won some of them.

I have visited many national and international flyfishing shows and I have demonstrated in 9 diferrent countries, Dänmark, USA, England, Sweden, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, France and Ireland. In 2008 I won the first Official German Flytying Championchip in 4 categories.

Thanks,

Sacha
