The Silver Doctor is a married wing pattern designed by Mr. James Wright around 1850. The Silver Doctor was and still is a very popular fly on the waters of Norway and Canada. The Silver Doctor and its close cousin, the Helmsdale Doctor, are the only Doctor flies that have a tinsel body. Other Doctor flies, like the Blue Doctor and the Black Doctor, have bodies that are with floss ribbed with flat tinsel.
