My name is Vegar Tangrand. I was born in lofoten in northern Norway in 1982 and still live there to this day. Have been tying classic/freestyle salmon flies for about 7 years. Before that the only files I tied were for fishing. In the summer I still love to fish for sea run trout, and salmon.

The thing that got me started tying the classics was their beauty the tecniques used to tie the classic patterns. Over the years everything I have learned about fly tying has been self learned. The first few Years of tying were for fishing flies only such as dry flies, wet flies and nymphs for trout. Soon I felt I needed a new challenge so I started tying a few salmon fly patters. At first I found it almost impossible to find the right matrials I needed but after making contact with other classic salmon fly tiers I was able to find most of the materials I needed to get started. Some of the classic patterns I tie are not exactly by the book but hopfully they are pleasing to others just as they are pleasing to me.
